Altitude Sickness was developed by two full time firefighters/paramedics, Rick & Jayson, that hale from Milwaukee, WI and have a deep passion for back country snowmobiling. On their big trips out west, they witnessed the most beautiful sceneries and the most gruesome injuries. Both realized that they discovered back country snowmobiling for a reason, to bring forth their trauma care knowledge to the industry and develop an emergency first aid kit built by snowmobilers, for snowmobilers. Altitude Sickness was born with the goal to always provide the best equipment, training, and support for everyone! Our products are carefully selected to ensure the best quality and performance.  Since then, kits and training have been provided in multiple industries, not just back country snowmobiling. These have included off-road sports, watercraft sports, trail sports and more!

Our Philosophy

Our Future

Our Future is not just one goal. It is to develop knowledgeable and safe riders through our S.A.F.E.R. program, to always continue our own educational development and support the importance of avalanche education, and to be a steward for the sport and land we enjoy every day.

Our Snowmobilers Approach to First Aid and Emergency Response

Our Future is not just one goal. It is to develop knowledgeable and safe riders through our S.A.F.E.R. program, to always continue our own educational development and support the importance of avalanche education, and to be a steward for the sport and land we enjoy every day.

Our Snowmobilers Approach to First Aid and Emergency Response course, or S.A.F.E.R. for short, was developed to keep riders prepared for trauma assessments, victim stabilization, stopping bleeds, how and when to properly apply tourniquets, radio communication and more.

Rick is currently in the process of becoming a certified AIARE avalanche instructor. An amazing feat that takes years to achieve, through hours of classroom instruction, hands on training and backcountry experience. This will allow the S.A.F.E.R. program to be combined with AIARE Courses to support the development of rider education all in one fun filled weekend!
